Graduated in Biology. Develops scientific research at
Brazilian Amazon since 1989, where he completed his Master's and Doctorate in Ecology.

Anavilhanas and Mamirauá were their largest schools, where they understood the strategy of adding traditional knowledge to formal science, aiming at biological, social and economic conservation.

Currently he is also interested in the fauna in the Amazonian cities, being coordinator of the Lab. fauna management and full professor at the Federal University of Amazonas/Brazil. Specialist in Amazonian crocodians.
